THE WAY YOU WANT TO LEAD

Lead in a way that brings out the best in your people, even when things get hard.

A 9-week development pathway for people leaders with a solid foundation in leadership, who are ready to lead with greater intention, confidence and consistency.

You know the kind of leader you want to be. But knowing how you want to lead isn't always the same as being able to lead that way - especially when pressure, complexity and competing demands test you.

"The Way You Want to Lead" Leadership Pathway helps you close that gap.

The Kind Of Leader You Want To Be

You're already leading people. And you've discovered that leadership gets more complex the more responsibility you have.

You care about the impact you have on others.

You want to be the kind of leader people trust, grow under and feel good working with.

You want to care about people without avoiding challenges, hold high standards without losing humanity, and create enough clarity and space for others to do their best work.

But leading people is hard.

People are complex. Everyone brings different needs, personalities, perspectives and expectations - and leadership rarely happens in neat or predictable circumstances.

Even when you know how you want to lead, pressure, competing priorities and difficult moments can make it harder to lead that way.
Write your awesome label here.
Do any of these sound familiar?
  • You take the work back when you're under pressure because doing it yourself feels faster than explaining it or waiting for someone else to get it done.
  • You replay a difficult conversation afterwards, wishing you'd been clearer, calmer or more direct.
  • You say yes to one more thing because it's easier than renegotiating priorities or disappointing someone.
  • You put off a conversation because you don't want to make things awkward, even though you know it needs to happen.
  • You swing between too soft and too hard when something isn't working.
  • You know exactly what you'd advise someone else to do, but find it much harder to do it yourself when you're in the middle of it.
None of this means you don't care or don't know what good leadership looks like. It means you're human, and the moments that matter most are often the moments that test us.

That's why leadership development has to go beyond techniques and tools.

human-centred

Leadership Is Human.

The way you lead isn't shaped by leadership techniques alone.

It's shaped by what happens within you, between you and other people, and within the context you're working in.
  • How you respond when pressure rises.
  • The assumptions you make.
  • The emotions you experience.
  • The patterns you've developed over time.
  • How you understand other people's behaviour.
  • The dynamics within your team.
  • The expectations, structures and ways of working around you.
All of these influence how leadership plays out.

That's why “The Way You Want to Lead” Leadership Pathway takes a broader view of leadership development.

You'll develop a deeper understanding of the human capabilities that shape how people lead, relate and work together, drawing on insights from emotional intelligence, psychology, neuroscience, neuroplasticity and adult learning.

And you won't just learn about them. You'll apply that understanding to the real people, situations and challenges you're navigating at work.

Because becoming a better leader isn't just about understanding yourself.

It's about understanding yourself, understanding others and becoming more capable of navigating the human complexity around you.
Lasting Impact

The Impact You Create When You Lead Well

When you can stay present, navigate challenges and respond in ways that reflect what matters to you, you change what becomes possible for the people around you.

People step up rather than wait for you.

You create the clarity and space people need to take responsibility, make decisions and grow.

Conversations happen before problems grow.

You can address tension, give honest feedback and work through disagreement without making the relationship the casualty.

People can rely on how you show up.

Your responses are less dictated by the pressure of the moment and more consistent with the leader you want to be.

You don't have to carry everything

.You can hold what is yours, let go of what isn't, and make clearer choices about where your time and energy go.

The way you work reflects what matters to you.

Your decisions, relationships and standards contribute to the kind of workplace you actually want to create.

You don't need to become a perfect leader. You need the capacity to lead well, especially when life gets messy.

  • Navigate difficult conversations with greater clarity, confidence and care.
  • Balance humanity with accountability when expectations aren't being met.
  • Make clearer decisions when priorities compete or things feel uncertain.
  • Keep developing beyond the pathway with practices you can continue using in your everyday leadership.

The Change Collab Way

Why This Isn't Another Leadership Course

Most leadership programs end when the workshop ends. You leave with good ideas, practical tools and the intention to do something differently... then real life gets busy.

The challenge is that learning something doesn't automatically change how you show up when you're under pressure, navigating conflict or making difficult decisions. Knowing what to do and being able to do it in the moment are two different things.

Change happens through practice.

That's why this pathway gives you time to apply what you're learning, reflect on what's happening, receive support and try again. The goal isn't to complete another course.

It's to build your capacity to lead in a way that's more consistent with who you want to be, especially in the moments when it's hardest.

You're not doing this alone.

The cohort is intentionally limited to 10 leaders, creating space for honest conversations, meaningful coaching and shared learning.

You'll learn alongside leaders from different industries, discover that you're not the only one navigating these challenges, and receive both support and challenge as you put the learning into practice.

The cohort isn't just who you learn alongside. It's part of how learning becomes practice.

Your 9-week Journey

Four leadership challenges. One week to pause, reset and practise.

Across nine weeks, you'll work through four interconnected areas - with space to apply what you're learning to your real work, reflect on what's happening and learn from others along the way.

Live session times

Sessions will be held at [day/time/timezone]. Live participation is encouraged as connection, discussion and practice are an important part of the pathway. All sessions will be recorded and available afterwards.

If the live session time doesn't work for your timezone, let us know in your application. Your feedback will help us shape future cohort times.

Explore the everyday behaviours that strengthen trust, openness and connection, then put them into practice.

Pause, reset + practise

Develop others through better conversations

03 | Weeks 6-7
Strengthen how you use feedback, coaching, delegation and everyday conversations to build capability and ownership.

Lead through pressure & complexity

04 | Weeks 8-9

Throughout the pathway, you'll apply the learning to what's actually happening in your work.

Why The Change Collab

Empty space, drag to resize
15+ years of experience, brought directly to you.

I've spent 15+ years designing, facilitating and developing learning around the human capabilities that underpin how people understand themselves, relate to others and work together.

I've worked across education, community, corporate and government settings in Australia and internationally, facilitating thousands of learning experiences and seeing first-hand what helps people move from good intentions to meaningful change.

Over those years, I've learned what helps people not just understand something, but actually use it when it matters.

The Thriving Leaders Pathway brings those lessons, approaches and tools into a public cohort for the first time - distilled into a practical development experience you can apply directly to your own work.

Our approach is evidence-informed and grounded in the belief that you don't have to choose between:

  • Humanity and high standards
  • Care and accountability.
  • Performance and wellbeing.

We help people build the capability to hold both and create the conditions where people can thrive, together.

Is This Pathway For You?

"The Way You Want to Lead" is designed for people leaders who are ready to strengthen how they lead - not start from scratch.

You'll get the most from it if you:
  • Care deeply about the impact you have on others.
  • Know the kind of leader you want to be, but sometimes find it harder to lead that way when things get difficult.
  • Have enough real-world leadership experience to bring genuine situations and challenges into the learning.
  • Want to understand the human side of leadership, not just collect more tools and techniques.
  • Are willing to reflect honestly on your own patterns and behaviours.
  • Want to experiment and put the learning into practice, not just consume content.
  • Value learning alongside other thoughtful leaders.
It may not be the right fit if...

You're completely new to managing people and are looking for an introduction to the fundamentals of people leadership.

It's also not designed for people who want to attend sessions, collect information and leave the application to someone else.

This is for leaders who are ready to practise leading differently, especially in the moments that matter.
